Oxygen Magazine and lists...

New Years Resolutions are craziness. You put these grand PLANS on the table and with them come a side serving of pressure... no thanks!

I definitely have some things on a "list" that I will be trying to accomplish this year. I am using my 101 in 1001 list as a sort of resolution... a list of things that will make me happier to accomplish.

Well like most years- my weight plays a role on "the list." The difference this year is the fact that it is an ongoing project. I have spent the last 2-3 months making minor changes that are bringing results that seemed far too elusive the last few years. This new year will bring some additional changes once things settle a little around here.

My in laws leave on Monday. Hais is back to school that day too. One more week after that and Lee will be back to work like normal. I need a routine back before I start making things happen. I want a little normal to return before I start making my new Normal a routine- lol

One of the things that I have been doing is buying some of the womens fitness magazines to find good recipes and workout ideas. Lee bought me this amazing home gym thing to help with weight training here at home- since venturing to the gym with a lil mover is nearly impossible!

In the states- I could join a gym with daycare- even free daycare sometimes. Here in Germany- on our post- there is no daycare in the gym. And it is almost impossible to get an hourly care slot at the daycare on post... let alone have it happen routinely so that I could work out. So- the gym on post is almost impossible for me to attempt. There are definitely days that I could drop lil man at work with daddy... but Lee is making it a reality for me here at home. I have the weight machine and he even bought me an XBox with Kinect and set me up with that new Dance Central and Biggest Loser Workout games... and a friend who is PCSing in a month is GIVING us his treadmill- awesome right???

One of the magazines I love is Oxygen. They have the most amazing tips and recipes and workout ideas in there. Plus I love that the women are clearly in shape- they are not models showing poses- they are fit healthy women with muscles!! It is what I want to look like. I have always been muscular- never the skinny girl... so I love that magazine.

One of the blogs I follow- California Dreamin is giving away a subscription to the mag... so maybe part of my 101 in 1001 list in the future will be something to do with the magazine- maybe... try five recipes from the mag a month or follow 1 workout routine from it a month etc.... keep your fingers crossed I win!!
