Randomness


So... know what happens if you are a momma and have nothing planned for the week? Like seriously nothing... except your daily dose of Dr. Phil, paperwork you've been putting off and gym sessions. Your kid gets sick. For real friends. Got the call from the daycare that lil man needed to be picked up... cause he is "ill." Gotta love the lack of communication sometimes with the German/English barrier.

I am thinking, I just dropped him off an hour ago and he was laughing. What happened? I get there and he is still laughing and playing. The main teacher comes out and shows me a piece of paper. It says "contagious." She speaks pretty good english but I guess some words are tough! lol

He has hand, foot, mouth disease. I had noticed a red area above his upper lip but he is a paci kid- so I attributed it to that. But he has little bumps on his palms and feet too. Darn. It is simply a contagious virus. Nothing to be done but wait it out, dope him up with motrin and tylenol and make sure he is well hydrated. Yeah- so lets see how relaxing this "down week" is... lol

What can you do? Adventures in mommyhood!

Ok- on to Move it Monday. Was heading to the gym this morning when I got sidetracked and then go the call from daycare to get lil man. I need to start braving the cold cause I will not be heading to the gym this week. Since lil man is so contagious- I cannot send him to school, have my friends watch him or take him to the gym. The problem is...check out the weather here lately!


Yesterdays high was 14 degrees. You can see that in the last twelve hours the high has been 2 degrees! It is SOOO cold outside. It is actually cold enough that even after autostarting the van that is in a car port- it is hard to steer cause the power steering fluid is sooo cold! lol


I have outdoor running stuff. I know that I will warm up once I get going. Yet it is HARD to get out that door when the weather is in the negatives. Really I just want to curl up on the couch with a warm blanket and hibernate! lol It is usually cold here but this is the 6th coldest winter in Germany since they started tracking the tempertures--- crazy!


Anyone have any ideas on helping with running in the cold? The one thing I am lacking is good running gloves. All I have are my isotoners and I am thinking those are not fantastic for running. I will be running on paved trails but tempted to run in my trail running shoes since they have more traction and I am nervous about the ice.


While exercising is hard this week with sick lil guy and the cold- I can control my eating. I have been doing much better. I am actually down 4 lbs in the last week. It is moving in the right direction which is making me happy. Been super concious of what I am eating and that makes me feel better since my workouts are lacking.

Good for you! So many bloggers are on a weight loss kick lately (myself included) and it's GREAT to see all the support! Are you on myfitnesspal? It's a great way to monitor calories and track your weight PLUS the motivation from friends is awesome!

HOLY SMOKES it's cold there! Wow. I don't like the cold. I'm a sunny kind of girl!
