Ice Day!

For real! An ice day!
I had heard that we were going to be hit with some BAD rain this next few days and with rain- I knew it would be melting the snow- which was a little bit of a plus! Unfortunately we knew that would bring flooding- which can get pretty bad around here...
Never thought of the ice!
We woke up this morning- which was pretty rough in itself... had too little sleep last night. Hais, lil man and I came downstairs. Not a minute later I get a text message telling me that roads are RED and school is on a 2 hr delay. Really- at that moment I was thinking DANG! I was too awake at that point to go back to sleep and plus- lil man was up. There is no sleeping once he is awake! lol
So- they did another weather eval at 7am and determined that roads were just too dangerous- so they closed school and post all together. I was a little skeptical- I knew it was raining but...
Then Bane came downstairs to go outside... he slid (literally slid on his tuchas out the patio door) and then slipped and slided across the patio to the lawn (snowy ice covered one honestly). That reaffirmed the amount of ice out there.
So- by this point- it was lil mans morning nap time- so he laid down. Then Lee, Hais & I climbed into our bed to take a nap together. I put on Sex & the City 2 (for about 10 minutes before I rethought that with my 8 year old in bed). I got out of bed at 11:30! I have not napped like that since I was preggo! Wow... My husband rocks- cause I know he was tired too and still let me sleep...
So- an ice day.... really... an ice day!
I think I will pull out some craft books and look for a fun project for Hais and I to do while we are home on this day together. Maybe a fun craft I saw in the latest Family Fun mag or one I saw another blogger do with their kiddos.
Then maybe a batch of cookies will be in order... I have been craving a good batch of homemade cookies... I definitely have the fixings for them- and Hais would have fun helping create them!
Yeah for ice days...
