Sweet Home- California

In two short months I will be joining my family on (another) international trip... 6th in just over 2 1/2 years. We log some serious miles when it comes to airfare. It is crazy enough to cross the Atlantic with 2 kiddos but then to have to go from the East Coast to the West Coast makes us nearly insane! With booked airline tickets you are talking a 20 or so hour trip!

This time we are especially insane... we are going to try to get the free flights- which means no guarenteed ticket, time of departure, arrival date etc... but it is FREE...

What will be my motivating factors for being patient... on those 20+ hours??

*My hometown of Placerville... see above... Main Street & the belltower

*In n Out Burger---Mmmm.... Cheeseburger with onions and fries!

*A trip to South Lake Tahoe. Lunch at Chevys. Walking around State Line. Seeing my Aunt Licia. Driving along the North Shore. This is only an hour from my parents house- coming down Echo Summit and seeing that first view of the lake is one of the most amazing sights!!


* A trip into San Fran for two days. Showing Hais the sealions at Pier 39... taking a ride on a cable car... driving down Lombard Street... taking a boat out to Alcatraz and walking the Golden Gate.

*Celebrating lil mans first birthday party in California- surrounded by those we love... another post to come on that... I am trying to wrap my head around it all!

*Spending time with best friends and wine dates on the couch with long conversations that are totally overdue...

*That first view of the fields as you are flying into Sacramento is amazing... it brings tears to my eyes everytime...

Only 2 months... then we start an adventure that brings us home...
